A Life of Intense Expectation

“For surely there is a latter end [a future and a reward], and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off”(Proverbs 23:18 AMP).

One of the hardest places to stay in life is in a place of positive expectation. God has given us many promises in His word that guarantees victory and outstanding rewards. We're never at a disadvantage as long as we are operating in the God kind of faith. God can do anything. Nothing is impossible with Him. Any day now, something extraordinary can take place in your life. You don't have to accept mediocrity as a way of life. You can live an 'over and beyond' life of supernatural results.

I know what you're thinking. "Well, I tried this before, and nothing happened!" The real issue is not that you tried faith and got disappointed, but that faith tried you and found you unprepared. You see, when you have a real expectation for what God is going to do, you're always in preparation, ready for the promise to manifest. Preparation plus expectation equals manifestation. In other words, make room for the blessings of God to overtake you.

First, you must change your inner expectation. People don't respond to information or events based on what's coming from the outside world. Your response to life is all a matter of what's happening in your inner world. Understand something about your mind, the most powerful instrument you possess. It will not argue with you. Whatever you tell it, that's what it's going to believe and hold you accountable for bringing to pass. Your low expectation is keeping you at a halt. Because of the intense negativity attacking your mind, it's imperative that you intensify your expectation in order to see the manifestations of your promise. Start by changing your vocabulary. Instead of saying, "One day I'll have favor!", say, "This could be the day I experience uncommon favor!" Instead of saying, "Maybe I missed my season!" say "It can happen any moment now!"

It's all a matter of how you think and what you say. Expect God to do some new things in your life. His word declares, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Due season is a fixed and definite time God has appointed for your promise to come into fruition. However, you have to nourish that promise into reality. The Bible says that your expectation will not be cut off, or disappointed. Stay in a place of intense expectation by changing your belief systems and making confessions of faith that agrees with the word of God.
