He Will Do It Again

“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19)

The American Heritage College Dictionary defines the word promise as a declaration assuring that something will or will not be done. It is a pledge or vow to fulfill a desire or meet an expectation. Sadly to say, today, promises are broken just as easily as they are given. Many relationships have crumbled because of broken promises. Businesses or organizations fail to meet its goals because of broken promises. Many lives have been ruined because someone failed to follow through with a promise. The result of broken promises is always regret, fear, hurt, and disappointment. You may have been given a promise from man, and have only received excuses for not fulfilling them, but when you receive a promise from God, it shall come to pass.

The scripture is clear that God is not a man that He should lie. Man, by nature, fails on his commitments for various reasons. This is not an excuse to not trust anyone, but you must be careful not to put your life in the hands of man. No one man or woman can give you all you need. God is the only person qualified to meet every need and fulfill every desire of your heart. Too many times we have placed our total faith and confidence in the wrong people and always end up with the short end of the stick. God said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you. You can always trust me to fulfill every promise I have spoken." When man makes a promise, he may or may not deliver, but when God makes a promise, He will deliver every time. If you're facing a situation right now that seems beyond your control, good. That means that God alone is qualified and capable of taking care of it. When life seems overwhelming and nothing seems to be working, just look back over your life and remember what God did for you before.

You may be in a crisis today. Remember when you faced a financial crisis before, and God provided a breakthrough for you? Remember when you faced a family crisis yesterday, and God stepped in and brought peace to the home? Remember when you were sick in time's past, and God miraculously healed your body? Remember when doors were shut in your face, and God opened new doors supernaturally? Yes, my friend, I believe you're getting it right now. Well, if God did it once before, He can do it twice, and again, and again. Just begin praising Him right now for what He has done before, and set your faith and expectation on what He's about to do. Just continue to do your part of the agreement, and God will fulfill His part - in His time, on His terms, and for your testimony.
